The housing mania has been effectively defused and so it is with high hopes that the household debt bubble in Canada will also lose air without being popped in a destabilizing manner. It’s about fiscal flexibility that few other countries have a central bank balance sheet that is clean, a banking sector that pays out a consistent and reliable dividend stream, and an economy that is operating at a very high level
