Canada’s healthcare system is designed to control costs with waiting lists. Right now, despite billions in increased healthcare spending, waiting lists are longer than the BC Federation of Labour can tolerate so that they now, despite their distate for capitalism, send their union members to the private Cambie Street Clinic.
